YARD BUILT FOR GOOD - DONATE TO WIN A MOTORCYCLE

In 2021, CROIG (@caferacersofinstagram) launched their first Built For Good project. This was inspired by Waves for Water’s philosophy rooted in one simple idea: do what you love and help along the way.

We wanted to find a way to build inspiring motorcycles with our beloved community and raise money through donations to get clean water to those who need it the most. This first project was able to successfully raise over $24k and helped provide water filters for people in Pakistan and Thailand through motorcycle expeditions

This year, we’ve teamed up with Yamaha’s Yard Built custom program, to bring you the “Yard Built For Good” campaign in partnership with W4W. We’ve taken a new 2023 Yamaha XSR900 and asked our friends at Strange Industries to work their magic.

Inspired by Yamaha’s racing heritage, this build takes strong styling cues from the race bikes of the 80s such as the TECH21 FZR750 ridden by Kenny Roberts and Tadahiko Taira in the Suzuka endurance race.

Dragos and Alex at Strange industries have done an incredible job from taking a concept sketch, shaping the bodywork in foam, to scanning, designing, fabricating, and 3D printing parts for this build. We debuted our first prototype SV1 at the Bike Shed Moto Show in London and from that created the SV2 seen with ampliTex bodywork. We’ve also installed some tasteful parts from our sponsors including carbon fiber RotoBox wheels, Bridgestone tires, Ohlins suspension and an Akrapovic exhaust system.
