Program Overview
Access to clean water is a game-changer. The overall health benefits are obvious, but the ripple effects when clean water is introduced into a community is profound, and often overlooked—higher attendance in school, more time for work, increased infant care, better feminine hygiene, the list goes on.
But according to the United Nations, the average distance women in Africa and Asia walk to collect water is 6 kilometers, while carrying at least one 20-liter jug. We can help change that.
Waves For Water Philippines, is doing a virtual activity experience to build a water point closer to an Aeta village in Pampanga, one of the northen provinces of the country. Kilometers traveled will also be converted into liters of water filtered for underserved communities.
Do what you love, help along the way this March.
Race For Water is organized in partnership with H&M, Aveda, and The Bouldering Hive, and co-presented by TUMI, San Miguel Corporation, and Atlas.

Campaign Updates
8 April 2021 - Tawi-Tawi
The campaign has reached Tawi-Tawi, one of the Philippines' southernmost regions. Photo below shows a 1,600 liter tank headed for an island community in the municipality of Sitangkai with the support of our local implementation partners and the Philippine Navy. This tank will serve as a rainwater catchment system that will help increase freshwater supply and storage for the Badjaus.
22 March 2021 - La Union
For World Water Day, W4W Philippines in collaboration with the Institute of Social Order implemented 15 clean water systems with a Fisherman's Village in Poro, La Union. At least 10,800 liters of safe water have been made accessible to community on a daily basis thanks to the participants' pledges.
Support This Program
Funds raised from the event will go towards building a gravity-fed water system to an upland Aeta community in Porac, Pampanga that will enable them to have water points within meters of their homes. You may also donate directly to our local donation channels below.
In addition, the accumulated distance traveled by all participants will also be converted into liters of water filtered, through the implementation of water filtration systems and distribution of containers to areas in need.
