Hurley + Common Room Roasters

Long time friends and Newport Beach locals, Common Room Roasters and Hurley, are two companies that share values of quality, innovation, sustainability, and community. They have partnered together to leverage their crafts and communities to give back to people in need.

Costa Rica is known amongst the specialty coffee industry for producing some of the finest and most exciting coffees the world has to offer. Common Room Roasters regularly sources a range of coffee from Costa Rican farms for their premium quality, innovative processing methods, and bold flavor profiles.

At the core of this project is the realization of how many times surf destinations and coffee bean sources intersect, and how often those areas lack access to clean water. This is especially true in Costa Rica’s central valley.

Focusing on some of the underserved communities where Common Rooms coffee beans are sourced, Waves For Water will provide much needed water filtration systems to the very families that help make this coffee what it is.
