Project Overview

Dear Friends,

As we all know, Puerto Rico was devastated from the impact of Hurricane Maria. The majority of the island is without electricity, communication and clean drinking water.

Our mission is to adopt the City of Corozo which is in the county of Cabo Rojo. It is located on the southwest coast of the island where aid has been slow to none.

Corozo, like most of the surrounding area, is a community that lives at or below poverty level and consists of a large elderly population over the age of 55. There are approximately 200 families living in this small town. It is a close-knit community consisting of the Camacho, Casiano, Doro, Padilla families and many more.

This area holds a dear place in my heart as we have a large family history dating back many generations in this small neighborhood. They need our help. Aid is desperately needed, clean drinking water most of all. Currently, the water that many are drinking is contaminated with toxins and bacteria, particularly the Leptospirosis bacterial disease which can be life threatening.

The Adopt Corozo Initiative aims to bring water filter systems and teach the locals how to use them. Each filter system makes 500 gals of clean water per day. Our objective is to deliver as many water filters as possible by the beginning of November and then additional trips throughout the coming months.

Currently, there is no water filtration system in place. We aim to change that! One filter system per family can have a huge impact on the lives of the people of this small town. Time is of the essence! Let’s make this happen, together.

On behalf of the friends and families of the pueblo of Corozo, we thank you in advance for your support and contribution.
